Ōtari Night Tours are Back
Our night tours are back. These focus largely on titiwai (glowworms), who live on our sheltered banks and light their tails at night to attract food. But keep your eyes peeled: our guides will also be looking out for other tiny Ōtari-Wilton’s Bush residents who come awake at night. The tranquil, after dark aura of the bush is quite something to enjoy.
This outdoor tour takes just over an hour, from 7 until 8pm. The walk requires moderate fitness, the route includes numerous steps (with handrails) to and from the glowworms. If bringing children, we find it most suitable for ages 5 and over. Children under 12 are free, adults cost $10.25, Ōtari-Wilton’s Bush Trust members are free.
