Voices of the Kaiwharawhara
In 2022, the Voices of the Kaiwharawhara communications project was completed by Science Masters student Janel Hull, as part of her Science in Society Student Research for Science Communication at Victoria University of Wellington. Janel aimed to tell inspirational stories about Wellingtonians working towards restoring the Kaiwharawhara Stream. These stories highlighted volunteers, Māori, citizen scientists, scientists, youth, and business leaders, and included some of our Trust members.
Here are the stories of Wilbur Dovey and the Kaiwharawhara revegetation project, and Jim Tait, who heads up the RAMBO predator control work throughout Ōtari-Wilton’s Bush, with trapper Kathy Ombler.
For Janel’s other stories, check out the blog page on Zealandia’s website – they are well worth reading.
